Family Solicitor

Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Family Solicitor with 3 or more years' PQE to join a well-established, multi-service law firm in Liverpool, Merseyside. This is a permanent, full-time job offering a salary of £40,000 to £55,000 depending on experience, with the option of hybrid working, one day per week from home. This is an excellent opportunity for a Family Solicitor to build their own caseload and take on genuine responsibility within a growing and reputable department.

About the Job

As the incoming Family Solicitor based in the Liverpool office, you will report to the Head of Department and manage a varied caseload of Family and Children Law matters, spanning both private and public law work. This job offers the chance to develop your own client base, take on advocacy where appropriate, and play an active part in the continued growth of the family team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a varied caseload of Family and Children Law matters, including private law, public children proceedings, domestic abuse cases and non-molestation and occupation orders
• Earning fees by working towards individual and departmental targets and KPIs
• Preparing, submitting and managing Legal Aid work, including CCMS applications, amendments, billing and payments on account
• Arranging and attending client meetings, delivering a professional and consistently high standard of client care
• Negotiating with clients, counsel, experts and other professionals to achieve favourable outcomes
• Attending court hearings and other off-site appointments, including advocacy where appropriate
• Drafting legal documentation, including applications, statements and correspondence
• Supervising and supporting trainee solicitors, paralegals and support staff
• Contributing to business development, networking and marketing activities

About You

You will be a qualified Solicitor, with a genuine interest in Family and Children Law work. This position will suit someone who is commercially aware, personable and confident managing a full caseload independently, while contributing effectively as part of a supportive team.

You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

• Qualified Solicitor with 3 years' PQE in Family Law
• Proven experience advising across a range of Family Law matters, including private and public law work
• Solid knowledge and practical experience of Legal Aid, including CCMS processes
• Advocacy experience is desirable, with confidence representing clients where required
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload independently
• Personable, confident and articulate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
• An existing referral network or the ability to generate work would be a distinct advantage
