Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Senior Family Solicitor to join a well-established, multi-service law firm in Liverpool, Merseyside. This is a permanent, full-time job offering a salary of £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience, with the option of hybrid working, one day per week from home. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Family Solicitor to take ownership of a complex caseload, mentor junior colleagues and play a leading part in a growing department.

About the Job

As the incoming Senior Family Solicitor based in the Liverpool office, you will report to the Head of Department and take ownership of a complex and varied caseload of Family and Children Law matters, spanning both private and public law work. This job offers genuine autonomy, a leading role in departmental strategy and performance, and the chance to mentor and develop junior members of the team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a complex and varied caseload of Family and Children Law matters, including private law, public children proceedings, domestic abuse cases and non-molestation and occupation orders
  • Consistently achieving and exceeding individual and departmental fee targets and KPIs
  • Overseeing high-value and complex matters, providing strategic legal advice
  • Preparing, submitting and managing Legal Aid work, including CCMS applications, amendments, billing and payments on account
  • Representing clients at court hearings and other off-site appointments, including advocacy where appropriate
  • Negotiating with clients, counsel, experts and other professionals to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Supervising, mentoring and supporting trainee solicitors, paralegals and support staff
  • Contributing to departmental strategy, business development and networking activities

About You

You will be a highly experienced Family Solicitor with a strong track record of managing complex Family and Children Law matters. This position will suit someone who is commercially aware, an established leader and confident operating with a high degree of autonomy, while genuinely enjoying the development of junior colleagues.

You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Extensive experience managing a broad caseload of Family and Children Law matters, including both private and public law cases
  • Strong experience of complex matters, including domestic abuse, child protection and court proceedings
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience of Legal Aid, including CCMS processes and billing
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues
  • Confident and experienced advocate, or a strong willingness to undertake advocacy where required
  • Strong commercial awareness, including a track record of achieving and exceeding fee targets
  • Panel membership, such as the Law Society Children Panel, or working towards accreditation, is highly desirable
