Farm Assistant

Permanent job opportunity Farm Assistant Do you enjoy working indoors and outdoors? Are you flexible to work 5 days out of 7? Are you able to work overtime when required? We are looking for a farm assistant; the role will involve supporting the farm management teams Experience is advantageous; however, training can be provided Working hours 7.30am to 3.30pm, Please note flexibilty is required due to the nature of the business In your role as mobile farm assistant: Labouring, some physical work Cleaning out sheds and farm areas Maintain required high standards of housekeeping, ensuring that the farm is kept clean and tidy, all roadways are free of litter and weeds Grass cutting Reducing the risk of vermin contamination Poultry welfare To maintain correct and up to date records of all matters relating to birds, food, supplies etc. To assist other operations such as vaccinating, bird weighing and catching and collection, thus maintaining a smooth operation through processing To monitor ventilation, heating, feed, water and lighting patterns within agreed guidelines, so that the highest quality atmosphere and condition in which the birds can thrive is achieved.  Safe use of chemicals To learn and operate all equipment and machinery All other associated tasks Our ideal candidate: Experience in a similar environment Holds a food hygiene certificate Willing to learn and gain a full understanding of poultry Responsible and an effective communicator Have a basic understanding and working knowledge of the operation of all equipment on the farm A full UK driving licence and own transport is advantagous, due to the location Rate of pay £13.12 per hr 1.5 overtime rate For a full job description, please apply with a current CV
