Job summary

Were looking for a Finance Administrator to join our team and play a key role in keeping our hospitals payroll and financial operations running smoothly.

£29,027 per annum

Full-time 37.5 hours per week

Main duties of the job

As a Finance Administrator, youll play an important role in the smooth running of the hospital, managing payroll, financial administration and site-based finance tasks. Working closely with HR, managers and the wider team, youll help ensure accurate records, timely payments and effective day-to-day financial processes. 

You will also be responsible for, but not limited to: 

  • Process weekly and monthly payroll, ensuring records and employee data are accurate and up to date.
  • Manage invoices, purchase orders, petty cash, patient finances and other site financial transactions.
  • Complete payroll and month-end checks, resolving discrepancies and responding to finance and employee queries.
  • Liaise with HR and managers to ensure payroll changes, rosters, holidays and training are managed within required deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate financial and administrative records, supporting audit and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate the site training plan and provide wider administrative support to the team as required.

Requirements

Essential

  • Experience using payroll software and Microsoft Office, with strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong numerical ability and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and communicate professionally with colleagues, suppliers and patients.
  • A proactive, adaptable and positive approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Due to the nature of the role, holding a full driving licence and being eligible to drive the hospital car would be desirable.
