Based in Belfast with a flexible hybrid working arrangement, you will become part of a collaborative finance team committed to excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.

Your new role Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial records, effective transaction processing and strong financial controls.

Key responsibilities will include: Processing financial transactions including purchases, sales, payments and nominal ledger entries.

Maintaining accurate supplier records and preparing supplier payment runs in line with organisational procedures.

Performing bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.

Leading on company credit card reconciliations and resolving discrepancies where required.

Analysing income reports from fundraising and donation platforms and preparing associated journals.

Supporting supplier query resolution and invoice approval processes.

Assisting with monthly cashflow forecasting activities.

Acting as the main operational contact for an external payroll provider and coordinating payroll-related information.

Gathering and validating payroll data including timesheets, absences, starters, leavers and contractual changes.

Supporting payroll queries and assisting with payroll validation processes.

Producing financial reports using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Assisting with monthly management accounts, audit preparation and board reporting requirements.

Maintaining well-organised digital finance records and supporting process improvement initiatives.

Utilising finance systems, Microsoft 365 applications and approved digital tools to enhance efficiency and reporting.

What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate: A minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English) or equivalent qualification.

At least three years' experience in a finance administration, accounts or finance officer position.

Experience using computerised accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Proven experience processing financial transactions, reconciliations, payments and maintaining accurate financial records.

Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

The ability to manage confidential financial and payroll information appropriately.

Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise effectively with colleagues, suppliers and external stakeholders.

The ability to prioritise workloads and work to deadlines within a busy finance environment.

Desirable experience includes: Exposure to charity or not-for-profit finance environments.

Experience supporting payroll administration through an external payroll provider.

Knowledge of accounting software packages and financial reporting processes.

Experience identifying and implementing process improvements through digital tools and automation.
