across: 3 sites in Walsall, 1 site in Essex A Group turnover of circa £15M with expansion plans to continue growing beyond £20M The Opportunity Due to the planned retirement of the current Finance Director, our client is seeking an experienced and professionally qualified Financial Controller to work closely with the Managing Director and Operations Director, supporting the continued growth and success of this well-established manufacturing group. The position offers a clear succession path, with the opportunity to develop into the senior finance leader for the business. Working alongside an experienced management team, you will help drive financial performance, enhance reporting and forecasting processes, support strategic decision-making, and ensure the business is well-positioned for its next phase of growth. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, commercially minded finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to build lasting relationships within a close-knit, people-focused organisation. Equally important is the desire to become a long-term member of a business that prides itself on its family values, collaborative culture, and commitment to its employees. The successful individual will be someone looking for a long-term position within a stable, growing manufacturing business and who can integrate well into a close-knit management team. Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts. Develop more detailed forecasting, budgeting and business planning processes. Monitor and improve financial reporting across the group. Provide meaningful management information to support decision-making. Strategic Finance Support the MD and leadership team in developing financial strategy. Provide commercial insight and analysis to aid business growth. Assist with investment appraisal and capital expenditure decisions. Treasury & Cash Management Manage group cash positions. Monitor and forecast cash flow across multiple entities. Oversee foreign currency exposures and transactions. Support working capital optimisation initiatives. Audit, Tax & Compliance Act as primary contact for external auditors and accountants. Coordinate annual audit processes. Ensure tax compliance and effective tax planning. Maintain strong financial controls and governance. Group & Intercompany Accounting Manage intercompany trading and reconciliations. Oversee reporting across multiple legal entities. Ensure accurate consolidation and financial oversight of the wider group. Finance Team Leadership Support and develop the existing accounts and credit control functions. Provide leadership to the finance department. Potential to develop into the Senior Finance Leader for the business.
