diversity, inclusion, and empowering your development What is the role? This is an exciting opportunity to join Persimmon Homes in a brand new and influential role. You will provide independent fire engineering assurance and technical challenge across the Company's building remediation portfolio. You'll bring expert insight to ensure assessments, designs and remediation strategies are robust, proportionate and compliant, while advising project teams, strengthening fire safety risk management and helping identify potential liabilities and cost recovery opportunities. What you'll do as a Fire Engineer Commission and review fire engineering assessments, reports and technical documentation to ensure recommendations are robust, proportionate and evidence based. Evaluate remediation designs, specifications and work scopes to ensure they align with approved fire engineering strategies, project requirements and fire safety objectives. Provide independent technical challenge and specialist fire engineering advice to project teams, consultants and stakeholders to support informed, risk-based decision-making. Ensure proposed remediation solutions comply with applicable legislation, Building Regulations, standards and industry guidance, including the Building Safety Act, Approved Document B and PAS 9980. Review original design, construction and technical records to identify potential liabilities, technical risks and opportunities for cost recovery. Verify remediation solutions and project activities to ensure delivery is consistent with approved fire safety objectives and regulatory requirements. Work collaboratively with consultants, contractors, regulatory bodies and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues and achieve compliant, proportionate remediation outcomes. Develop and maintain fire engineering assurance standards, guidance and processes, while supporting technical enquiries and continuous improvement across the remediation portfolio. What experience do I need? Relevant

Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline

and competence aligned to PAS 8671:2022; CEng status and/or IFE membership desirable. Strong fire engineering knowledge and experience developing performance-based solutions for residential buildings. Comprehensive knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, including the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, Approved Document B, British Standards and PAS 9980. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and provide clear technical advice. Experience working within multidisciplinary teams, with strong project, organisational and stakeholder management skills. Residential development or housebuilding experience desirable, including knowledge of Gateway submissions, façade fire performance, MMC, structural fire engineering or fire/evacuation modelling.
