Job Title Fire Safety Adviser Location Brighton, South East England Salary Competitive salary, dependent on experience Employment Type Temporary contract, 3 days per week Job Overview A Fire Safety Adviser is required for a 3-month temporary contract, working three days per week on campus in Brighton. The role will suit a fire safety professional with experience delivering Fire Risk Assessments, PEEPs, inspections and audits across complex or higher-risk premises. You will support an established fire safety team, providing operational advice, compliance monitoring and emergency planning across a varied property portfolio. Role & Responsibilities Undertake and manage Fire Risk Assessments Prepare and review Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans Complete fire safety inspections and audits Provide professional advice to internal stakeholders Support incident reporting and corrective actionsYou will also contribute to fire safety policies, procedures, compliance monitoring and responses to relevant legislative changes. The role involves communicating findings clearly to senior managers and supporting coordinated fire safety arrangements across multiple departments. Skills & Experience Required Relevant fire safety qualifications or professional membership Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation Experience completing Fire Risk Assessments Practical PEEP and emergency planning experience Experience delivering inspections and auditsYou will need experience working within complex organisations or higher-risk buildings, with the ability to interpret legislation and provide practical guidance. Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills are required.
