Job Description: We are currently recruiting for a Fleet Manager to join our team at the Bathgate depot. This role will oversee the running of the workshop and Fleet management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure vehicles and trailers are maintained in accordance with manufacturer's specifications
- Ensure legal compliance in all matters relating to internal fleet maintenance.
- Ensure documentation, communication and adoption of best practices and standardised processes within workshop
- Agree and monitor the performance of external suppliers which carry out maintenance on the company's behalf.
- Review data centrally tracked by the Fleet Administration team on vehicles on R&M packages including fridge maintenance packages for expiry dates / coming out based on mileage and drive decision processes with the business as to what to do once they come out of contract.
- Initiate and manage all warranties in the fleet.
- Identify and implement initiatives to reduce R&M and damage costs.
- Manage the relationship with internal and external customers and Suppliers.
- Work closely with parts suppliers, including OEMs, to review wearing part life and cost to optimise fleet maintenance costs and availability.
- Ensure satisfactory and compliant working conditions and procedures are maintained in all workshops in relation to health and safety legislation*.
- Manage workshop utilisation and productivity whilst also ensuring there is sufficient trained resource to perform required repair maintenance work.
- Conduct full annual PDRs on all reports and review reports on a minimum of quarterly
Requirements:
- Previous experience of managing a busy workshop is essential.
- Qualified LGV Technician up to Level 3 (Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and repair) is advantageous.
- Commercially aware with P&L accountability.
- Excellent knowledge of the transport industry to include O licence's.
- Track record of leading successful change.
- Proven experience in customer relationship management.
- Strong evidence of management skills and making key business decisions.
- Strong influencing skills both internally and externally.
- Capability to advise and motivate team to deliver results for the business.
- Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- MS packages to include, word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
