Functional Skills Tutor - Sefton Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting Functional Skills Tutors to support learners across Sefton! The Opportunity We are looking for experienced Functional Skills English and Maths Tutors to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition. You will work with learners who may have gaps in their education or require additional support to progress. Your role will involve developing their core English and Maths skills while helping them work towards recognised Functional Skills qualifications. Position Details: Location: Sefton Position: Functional Skills Tutor Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Ongoing Experience, Training and Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths Previous teaching or tutoring experience Strong knowledge of literacy and/or numeracy A learner-centred and adaptable teaching style Experience supporting learners with gaps in education would be advantageous To be eligible for this role, you must: Hold the Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to process a new application Provide two professional references Apply Now If you are an experienced Functional Skills teacher or tutor looking for flexible work and the opportunity to make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you!
