Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 GCSE Tutor/Mentor to support young people across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP). This is an excellent opportunity for an education professional who is passionate about helping students build confidence, develop their skills and achieve their potential. The successful tutor will provide one-to-one support tailored to the individual needs of each student. This may include GCSE preparation, functional skills, life skills, confidence building and supporting students who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education. You will work closely with the student to provide engaging and supportive sessions, helping them make progress both academically and personally. You will also be expected to complete weekly feedback and progress reports, recording achievements, development and any areas requiring further support. Role Details Location: Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Position: 1:1 GCSE Tutor / Mentor Subjects: GCSE / Functional Skills / Life Skills Start Date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing Contract: Part-time Hours: Flexible Pay: £25-£30 per hourThe role may involve working with Children Looked After (CLA) within a children's home setting. Experience supporting vulnerable young people would be highly desirable. Ideally, applicants will also be able to drive, as travel between locations may be required. Requirements Minimum 1 year's experience working in an educational setting Experience supporting children or young people GCSE teaching or tutoring experience is desirable QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential Up-to-date safeguarding training is desirable Right to work in the UK Enhanced Child Barred List DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain a new DBS Two professional child-related referencesProspero Teaching offers ongoing support, professional development and access to free accredited training courses, as well as assistance with interview preparation, lesson planning and classroom management.
