General Operative - Belfast

First Choice are currently seeking a General Operative, urgently required for the Belfast City Council, based in the city centre.

This is a full time, temporary post, initially required for 6 months, with the possibility of extension. Hours of work will be 

Monday to Thursday: 7.30 AM to 3.30 PM and Friday: 7.30 AM to 3 PM. Rate of pay is £13.47 per hour.

The main duties of this role will be to carry out waste collection across public areas, collect and remove refuse and recyclable waste from domestic, commercial and industrial premises, transport and segregate waste for appropriate disposal, including special and recyclable items, undertake street cleansing and environmental improvement duties, including land clearance and street washing and remove graffiti, fly-posters, gum and clean street furniture to maintain public areas.

What We Need From You
- Minimum of 6 months previous experience cleaning outdoor areas
- Must have awareness of health and safety regulations including experience operating equipment and manual handling
- Previous experience interacting with members of the public
