Locum General Practitioner (GP)

Location: Manchester/Cheshire

Role Overview

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Locum General Practitioner (GP) to support GP Practices and Out of Hours (OOH) services across Manchester and Cheshire. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced GPs seeking flexible working arrangements while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

You will play a key role in assessing and managing patients in face-to-face settings, alongside supporting telephone triage. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide timely and effective clinical care when standard primary care services are closed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality clinical assessments and treatment during face-to-face consultations
  • Support telephone triage and prioritise patients requiring in-person care
  • Provide personalised, evidence-based medical care
  • Offer advice, treatment, and onward referrals where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records with appropriate documentation and coding
  • Adhere to local prescribing guidelines
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to non-medical team members
  • Collaborate with a wide range of services including:
    • Primary and acute care
    • Urgent Community Response (UCR)
    • Hospital at Home teams
    • Single Point of Access (SPA)
    • Community, social, and mental health services
    • Voluntary sector partners

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as a GP
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care
