About the company & role The company provides specialist rental equipment and tailored solutions to customers across the construction, industrial, utilities and infrastructure sectors. Safety, service and equipment reliability are central to everything the company does.
As a Generator Engineer Power, you will be the main point of contact on customer sites, managing the delivery, installation, commissioning and handover of generators and associated equipment. You will also provide ongoing technical support, complete preventative maintenance and assist with the safe decommissioning and removal of rental equipment. This is a varied, hands-on role involving nationwide travel, occasional overnight stays and workshop-based maintenance at the Brigg branch.
Package Basic salary up to £41,000 per year
Overtime paid at 1.5x and 2x rates
£250 per week on-call standby allowance

Responsibilities Deliver, install, commission, decommission and remove generators, pumps, filtration equipment and tanks from customer sites
Complete mechanical servicing, inspections, repairs and fault finding
Diagnose faults involving electrical, mechanical and diesel-powered systems
Hand over equipment to customers and provide clear instructions on its safe and correct operation
Support the preparation and delivery of operational projects involving mechanical, electrical and diesel systems
Revisit customer sites to resolve faults and complete preventative maintenance
Carry out workshop-based inspections and repairs to maximise rental fleet availability and reliability
Monitor parts inventory and help maintain appropriate minimum stock levels
Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the operations team
Complete worksheets, service records and required safety training accurately
Requirements Strong electrical knowledge supported by mechanical, diesel or pump experience
Previous experience in a service engineer, service technician, generator engineer or similar field-based role
Practical experience servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on generators or related equipment
Full Category B driving licence
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider operational team
Willingness to travel throughout the UK and complete occasional overnight stays
Good written and verbal communication skills
Basic IT skills for completing worksheets, service records and online safety training
Proactive, flexible and customer-focused approach
Previous experience within the plant, equipment hire or rental industry would be advantageous
