Governance officer Worcester area Temp position (Maternity/ Paternity cover) Hourly Rate
The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
- £19.31 Job Purpose The Governance Officer will support the effective operation of the Group's Boards and Committees by helping to maintain a robust governance framework aligned with organisational objectives, regulatory requirements and relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain governance documentation, including governance manuals and corporate registers, ensuring records are accurate, current and compliant with regulatory obligations.
Coordinate and monitor Board and Committee member training, identifying skills gaps and arranging appropriate training with internal and external stakeholders.
Support the activity of Group Committees and subsidiary boards, ensuring agendas are well planned, papers and minutes are accurate, and documentation is produced in line with organisational guidelines.
Provide administrative support, advice and coordination for Board and Committee meetings and visits, including travel, accommodation, agendas, papers, minute templates and action schedules.
Maintain company secretarial records, including statutory books and electronic databases, ensuring company and statutory information is accessible and up to date.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, providing high quality, flexible and responsive customer service.
Contribute to projects and special programmes that support the Group's values, objectives and governance standards.
Handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest standards of probity, discretion and professionalism.
Essential Experience Proven experience of working in a customer service and/or administrative role.
Experience of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads effectively.
Some experience of providing support to boards and/or committees.
Experience of handling confidential information accurately and professionally.
Recent experience working in a similar governance, company secretarial or committee support role.
Some experience of supervising staff.
Working knowledge of housing regulations, legislation and current practice. xwzovoh
Proven experience of managing projects and applying strong project management skills.
