5:00pm A highly professional private family based in Essex is seeking an exceptional

Governess / Educational Mentor

to support their son, who is currently studying for his A-Levels. This is a unique and varied role requiring an intelligent, organised and engaging individual who can provide academic support, mentorship, structure and guidance during a pivotal stage of the young man's educational and personal development. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted mentor and role model, helping him achieve his academic goals, navigate university applications, develop independence and maintain a well-balanced lifestyle. Key Responsibilities

Providing academic oversight and support across A-Level studies Assisting with revision planning, coursework management and examination preparation Encouraging discipline, accountability and effective study habits Supporting university applications, including UCAS submissions, personal statements and interview preparation Acting as a positive mentor and role model Organising schedules, appointments and extracurricular commitments Coordinating educational, cultural and enrichment activities Accompanying the student on UK and international travel when required Encouraging independence, confidence and strong life skills Supporting social development and personal growth Preparing one healthy and nutritious meal each day for the student Maintaining a structured, organised and positive home environment Liaising regularly with parents regarding academic progress and development Candidate Requirements

Previous experience as a Governess, Educational Mentor, Teacher, Tutor or similar Degree educated, with a strong academic background Experience supporting students through A-Level education and university admissions Excellent organisational and administrative skills Warm, approachable and emotionally intelligent Able to establish boundaries and encourage personal responsibility Confident accompanying a young adult in social, educational and travel settings Comfortable preparing simple, healthy meals Flexible regarding occasional travel requirements Discreet, professional and highly presentable The Opportunity
