Graduate Town Planner Location: Cambridge Salary: £27-30,000 Are you a recent Planning graduate ready to take the next step in your career with an established and experienced planning team? I'm currently recruiting for a Graduate Town Planner opportunity in Cambridge, offering an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a varied portfolio of planning projects. You'll work closely with experienced planners, develop your technical knowledge and professional skills, and benefit from a structured graduate training programme designed to support your long-term career development. Key Responsibilities Assist with the preparation of planning statements and planning appraisals Support the delivery of a range of planning projects, including larger and more complex schemes Prepare and submit planning applications and appeals Assist clients throughout the planning and development process Assess and appraise new development opportunities Undertake planning policy research and analysis Assist with the preparation of Design and Access Statements where appropriate Manage a variety of planning applications and monitor progress and outcomes Support community engagement and consultation activities Attend planning committee meetings and public examinations Participate in site visits and client meetings Assist with preparing fee proposals and project scopesAbout You A degree in Town Planning or a related subject, ideally RTPI-accredited A clear interest in town planning and a genuine desire to develop a career in the sector Previous planning experience would be advantageous but is not essential Strong written and verbal communication skills Good organisational skills and attention to detail Comfortable working collaboratively within a team A proactive, motivated and ambitious approach to professional development Transferable skills and relevant experience are encouraged, and we welcome applications from candidates who may not meet every requirementBenefits 25 days' annual leave, increasing by 1 day each year up to 28 days after 3 years' service Life Assurance at 4x basic salary Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave Holiday Buy Back Scheme Long Service Awards Westfield Health Cashplan 1 paid volunteering day each year for a charity of your choice Dedicated internal graduate training programme Hybrid working Flexible working options considered Full-time, permanent opportunityTo apply for this role, please call Sophie on (phone number removed) or alternatively, send your CV and Portfolio across to .
