Hardware Engineer
We are recruiting for a Hardware Engineer to join an established engineering team developing complex electronic systems and high-performance hardware products.
This is a hands-on, end-to-end electronics design role for an engineer who can take hardware from system requirements and initial concept through detailed design, verification, manufacture and product introduction.
Key Responsibilities
* Translate system requirements into robust board-level hardware designs.
* Design high-speed digital electronics and support analogue circuit simulation.
* Develop multilayer PCB designs, layouts and signal integrity solutions.
* Produce schematics and PCB designs using Altium, OrCAD or similar CAD tools.
* Lead hardware verification, validation, testing, troubleshooting and design reviews.
* Write test specifications, circuit descriptions and technical documentation.
* Support FPGA-based hardware using VHDL and Embedded C where required.
* Use MATLAB and scripting for hardware configuration, test and verification.
* Support RF-related hardware, manufacturing introduction, component selection and obsolescence management.
* Deliver hardware designs to agreed schedule, quality and budget requirements.
Required Experience
* Strong electronic hardware design / electronics engineering background.
* Proven experience designing products from requirements through to manufacture.
* High-speed digital design and multilayer PCB experience.
* Signal integrity and board-level design knowledge.
* Schematic capture, PCB layout and hardware simulation experience.
* Hardware verification, validation, debugging and test experience.
* Degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience with Altium, OrCAD, FPGA, VHDL, Embedded C, MATLAB, RF, radar systems or Silicon Expert is advantageous.
Occasional UK travel may be required.
