Health And Safety Advisor
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading UK construction contractor on the appointment of a Health & Safety Advisor for projects across the Oxfordshire region.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction Health & Safety professional to join an established contractor delivering high-value projects across a diverse range of sectors.
Working closely with project teams and subcontractors, you will play a key role in maintaining high safety standards, driving a positive H&S culture and ensuring best practice is embedded throughout project delivery.
Salary: circa £60,000 – £70,000
In your new role:
- Provide practical Health & Safety advice and guidance to project and site teams
- Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across employees, contractors and subcontractors
- Carry out regular site inspections and ensure company policies and procedures are effectively implemented
- Review subcontractor documentation, including RAMS and safe systems of work
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company standards
- Support the development and implementation of Health & Safety strategies, policies and procedures
- Lead and support Health & Safety initiatives across project operations
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and appropriate corrective actions
- Deliver and support Health & Safety training for managers, employees and site teams
- Work closely with project management and subcontractors to identify risks and drive continuous improvement
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor within the construction industry
- NEBOSH, NCRQ, BSc/MSc in Occupational Health & Safety or another relevant professional qualification
- Strong working knowledge of current UK Health & Safety legislation
- Experience conducting site inspections and reviewing contractor Health & Safety documentation
- Proven accident and incident investigation experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all xwzovoh levels
- Ability to work effectively as part of a wider project team
- Strong IT skills
- Valid CSCS Card
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
- Experience supporting large-scale or high-value construction projects
- Experience working across commercial, industrial, education, healthcare or similar construction environments
- Additional professional Health & Safety accreditation or membership
- Experience delivering Health & Safety training and behavioural safety initiatives
