Are you a motivated and patient-focused Health Care Assistant with general practice experience?

We are seeking a skilled Health Care Assistant to join our dedicated multi-site GP practices across Tameside. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our clinical team in delivering essential services to our local community.

Main duties of the job

  • Performing venepuncture and blood sampling

  • Administering immunisations, including flu and B12 injections

  • Measuring blood pressure and other vital signs

  • Conducting NHS Health Checks

  • Performing diabetic foot checks

  • Supporting clinicians with patient care and administrative duties as required

  • Working across multiple practice sites within Tameside

    Job responsibilities

    Job Purpose: To provide high-quality clinical and administrative support across multiple GP practice sites, assisting the practice team in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered care.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform venepuncture and other blood sampling procedures safely and accurately.

    • Administer immunisations, including flu vaccines and B12 injections.

    • Measure and record patient blood pressure and other vital signs.

    • Conduct NHS Health Checks and diabetic foot checks.

    • Support clinicians during patient consultations and procedures as required.

    • Maintain accurate patient records in line with practice policies and data protection regulations.

    • Assist with the smooth running of clinical areas, including preparation and stock management of clinical equipment.

    • Work flexibly across multiple practice sites to meet service needs.

    • Participate in training and professional development activities as required.

    • Stock management including ordering

    • Safety checks including stock check and fridge temperature monitoring

    Person specification

    Experience

    Essential

    • Experience working in a general practice or primary care setting.
    • Competence in venepuncture, immunisations, and basic clinical assessments.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to work across multiple sites.
    • Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care.
