Main duties of the job

Were looking for a motivated Health Care Assistant to Join our nursing team. Duties include home visits, stock management, and routine patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct home visits for patients unable to attend the surgery for their annual review.
  • Manage and maintain clinical stock and equipment.
  • Take patient observations: blood pressure, pulse, temperature & weight.
  • Perform phlebotomy.
  • Record ECGs.
  • Administer vaccinations & injections under a PSD.
  • Conduct diabetic foot checks.
  • Wound care.
  • Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and admin staff.
  • Follow infection control and confidentiality procedures.

About us

South Milford Surgery is a 3-partner, semi-rural practice, situated in the village of South Milford located within the District of Selby. We also serve our 2 branch surgeries at Micklefield and Thorpe Willoughby. The practice serves approximately 11,000.

The practice operates under a Personal Medical Services contract with Vale of York, NHS Humber & North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB).

Job responsibilities

Skills & Qualifications, desirable but not essential:

  • Experience as a Health Care Assistant or Nursing Associate in primary care/community settings and familiar with using SystemOne.
  • Competent in phlebotomy, ECG recording, vaccine administration, wound care and diabetic foot checks.
  • Ability to carry out home visits.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Relevant health and social care qualifications.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
