Job summary

We are looking for support workers to work on the Lowry Unit and Riverside

The post holder will provide support and assistance to other members of the team. The post holder will provide routine care and support to people experiencing mental health problems, under the direction of the registered nurse and under the supervision of an identified member of the multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will promote therapeutic activity on the ward, under direction of the nursing team and the Occupational Therapist

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised competency based level 3 qualification

Desirable

  • Care certificate

Experience

Essential

  • Ability to successfully complete the trusts PMVA training

Desirable

  • Experience of working with people with mental health problems
  • Experience of working with people with emotional distress
  • Personal experience of emotional stress or mental health services

Qualifications

Essential

  • Must demonstrate the ability to make written entries in care plans

Knowledge

Essential

  • Awareness of Mental Health Rehabilitation.
