Health & Safety Officer

Hays Construction & Property are recruiting on behalf of one of Northern Ireland's leading construction contractors for a Health & Safety Officer to join a major long-term programme of works at a high-profile manufacturing facility in Derry/Londonderry. Renowned for delivering award-winning projects across the commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, pharmaceutical and fit-out sectors, our client has built an excellent reputation for quality, safety and successful project delivery throughout the UK and Ireland. This is an immediate requirement, offered on a long-term temporary contract basis through Hays, with a competitive hourly rate and weekly pay.

Your new role
Working closely with site management and project teams, you will be responsible for ensuring health, safety and compliance standards are maintained across a range of construction and refurbishment works within a live manufacturing environment.
Key duties will include:

* Conducting site inspections and safety audits.

* Reviewing and monitoring RAMS documentation.

*Delivering site inductions and toolbox talks.

* Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses.

*Maintaining health & safety records and compliance documentation.

* Supporting subcontractors and site teams with safe working practices.

* Promoting a positive health & safety culture across site operations.



What you'll need to succeed
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
* Previous experience in a construction, engineering or civil engineering environment.
* Knowledge of site inspections, audits, RAMS and health & safety procedures.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* A proactive and practical approach to health & safety management.
* CSR Card or equivalent site accreditation.
