We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Foston Hall a women's closed prison in Foston, Derbyshire.

We are recruiting for a Bank Healthcare Assistant to support the wider healthcare team on a bank basis. 

Salary

This position is a bank role paying £15.80 per hour.

Hours   Potential shifts below;   Days 7.00am - 8.00pm with 1 hour break Nights - 7.45pm - 7.15am   The maximum hours you can work on bank is 22.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

As our Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

• Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings
• Facilitate clinics, including bloods, observations (obs), ECGs, NHS Health checks etc
• Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages
• Support the nursing team with all aspects of care 
• Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required
• Support receptions (new patients entering the prison) and assist with triaging new patients
• You will primarily be working within the primary care.

Qualifications required  

• NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
