Heavy Civils Operatives – Didcot – Long-Term Work Stridden Limited are recruiting for an established Civils & Groundworks Contractor who are looking for experienced Heavy Civils Operatives to join a long-term project in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Start: Beginning of September Duration: Approximately 1 year Hours: 10 hours paid per day Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire Positions Required * 1x 35T 360 Excavator Operator * 2x Groundworker / Pipelayers * 2x Heavy Civils Groundworkers This is a specialist heavy civils project involving cofferdam works and deep excavations of approximately 7m. Previous heavy civils, deep excavation, cofferdam, sheet piling/shoring or similar temporary works experience is essential. This is NOT standard housing or general finishing groundworks. Project Scope Operatives will be working on heavy civils works involving: Cofferdam construction / works Deep excavations of approximately 7m Sheet piling, trench sheets, shoring and temporary works Walers, struts, bracing and temporary support systems Deep drainage and pipework Dewatering, pumps and groundwater management Working alongside large plant including a 35-tonne excavator Working within exclusion zones and around heavy plant Following engineered temporary works sequences, RAMS and site procedures 35T 360 Excavator Operator Requirements The successful 360 Operator must have: Valid CPCS or NPORS 360 Excavator Above 10 Tonnes Proven experience operating large excavators within heavy civils environments Previous deep excavation / cofferdam experience – essential Experience excavating to depths of approximately 7m Experience working accurately around sheet piles, shoring and temporary works Confidence working under the direction of banksmen / slinger-signallers where required Previous lifting experience and relevant competency/tickets where required by the project Strong understanding of exclusion zones and safe working around operatives within deep excavation environments Groundworker / Pipelayer Requirements The successful Groundworker / Pipelayers must have: Valid CSCS Extensive heavy civils and pipelaying experience Deep drainage and pipe installation experience Previous experience working within deep excavations Cofferdam / sheet piling / shoring experience strongly preferred Experience working around large excavators Experience with pumps, dewatering and groundwater Ability to work safely around temporary works and support systems Confident working from drawings, levels, RAMS and instructed sequences Experience on major civils, infrastructure, utilities or similar projects Heavy Civils Groundworker Requirements The successful Groundworkers must have: Valid CSCS Demonstrable heavy civils experience Previous deep excavation experienceCofferdam / sheet piling / temporary works experience strongly preferred Experience working around shoring, walers, bracing and temporary support systems Experience working around large excavators and heavy plant Experience with drainage, pumps and dewatering Strong understanding of site safety and exclusion zonesAbility to follow RAMS and engineered temporary works sequences Please note: Housing / standard finishing groundworks experience alone will NOT be suitable for this project. We need very experienced heavy civils operatives who are confident working within this type of environment.
