Heavy Haulage Mechanic We are currently recruiting for an experienced Heavy Haulage Mechanic to join a busy operation in the West Midlands. You will play a key role in keeping a specialist heavy haulage fleet safe, roadworthy and fully operational, carrying out planned maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis and repairs. Key Responsibilities Carry out routine planned maintenance and inspections on tractor units, trailers and associated equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a heavy haulage fleet. Complete repairs and modifications identified through vehicle defect reports. Ensure vehicles and equipment remain safe, compliant and roadworthy. Work to manufacturer guidelines, planned maintenance schedules and vehicle operating standards. Carry out breakdown maintenance at operational sites when required. Identify and report major faults, defects, malfunctions, accidents and incidents. Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection standards. Keep the workshop and working areas clean, safe and organised. Work in accordance with company procedures, risk assessments and Health & Safety requirements. About You You should have: Experience maintaining, servicing and inspecting heavy vehicles, HGVs, trailers, plant or similar equipment. City & Guilds Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent. NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or a related discipline. Full, clean UK driving licence. HGV licence desirable Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Good communication and organisational skills Flexible approach to attending breakdowns or site-based repairs when required. What's on Offer Up to £19/hour DOE 40-hour working week.
