HGV CE Class 1 Driver General Haulage

Description Millison Chase Limited Recruitment is currently recruiting experienced HGV C+E Class 1 Drivers on behalf of a professional family-run transport operation based in Erdington . Our client specialises in general haulage and 3PL distribution services, collecting, decanting, and re-palletising goods for onward redistribution to Aldi and Lidl RDC and NDC operations nationwide. We are looking for reliable and professional drivers for ongoing full-time work. Shifts typically consist of between 2 and 3 deliveries to RDC and NDC locations, with occasional return collections from commercial businesses and distribution sites. Drivers will be responsible for ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently, and on time while maintaining excellent customer service and transport compliance standards. This role involves self-tip deliveries using an electric pallet truck and handling palletised goods safely and professionally. The fleet used for this operation is highly desirable and maintained to an exceptionally high standard, with modern, well-specced vehicles designed for driver comfort and operational efficiency. Drivers are expected to take pride in their vehicle, ensuring trucks are kept clean and presentable while also maintaining load restraint equipment and strapping in good condition as part of their daily responsibilities. Pay Progression Days: £17.93 per hour Nights: £19.05 per hour Weekends: Up to £21.29 per hour Weekly PAYE pay directly through Millison Chase Limited Ongoing regular work available Responsibilities Completing general haulage and 3PL distribution deliveries Collecting, decanting, and re-distributing palletised goods Delivering to Aldi and Lidl RDC and NDC locations nationwide Completing between 2 and 3 drops per shift Carrying out occasional return collections from commercial businesses and distribution sites Completing self-tip deliveries using an electric pallet truck Ensuring all loads are secured safely and correctly Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and load restraint equipment Ensuring all transport paperwork is completed accurately Following all drivers hours and tachograph regulations Operating vehicles safely and professionally at all times Maintaining excellent customer service standards Requirements Applicants must hold: Valid UK HGV C+E (Class 1) Licence Valid Driver CPC Card Digital Tachograph Card Minimum 1 year Class 1 driving experience (for insurance purposes) Experience with self-tip deliveries preferred Good communication and timekeeping skills Drivers should be: Reliable and punctual Comfortable using electric pallet trucks Flexible with working hours and shift patterns Able to work independently and as part of a team Professional in appearance and attitude Take pride in maintaining vehicles and equipment to a high standard Please note: Millison Chase Limited does not sponsor work visas.
