- Alfreton, Derbyshire People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Alfreton, Derbyshire .
This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for consistent ongoing work, with a pathway to a permanent contract for the right candidates through a 9-week temp to perm role.
This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as an LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver .
Rates of Pay: Monday to Friday: £15.90 per hour Saturday: £18.48 per hour Sunday: £23.10 per hour £0.50 per hour bonus for completing all scheduled shifts Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (Weekend work available) Various shifts available – earlies, lates and nights to suit Benefits: Your benefits as an HGV Class 1 Driver are: Excellent rates of pay Overtime available Temp to perm opportunity for suitable candidates Training & development opportunities Free on-site parking Access to Employee Assistance Programme Employee recognition scheme Employee referral programme Permanent positions available for suitable candidates Driver of the Month prizes Driver bonus scheme 20 days annual leave, increasing annually up to 28 days, plus 8 bank holidays (once permanent) One paid volunteer day per year Health Shield cashback plan – up to £1,000 per year Employee discount hub (retail, gyms, leisure) Cycle to Work scheme Day-to-Day Duties: Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver are: HGV Class 1 general haulage deliveries (palletised goods) Operating Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections Flexible working options including nights out and tramping Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers Assisting with loading and unloading when required (curtain side and back loader vehicles) Essential Skills: To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver , you will need: Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence Minimum one year xwzovoh Class 1 HGV driving experience Valid UK CPC and Digital Tachograph Card Maximum of six penalty points (no major endorsements) Professional and reliable approach Excellent communication skills Good spoken and written English Strong punctuality and timekeeping Good understanding of UK road traffic laws Training: Driver assessment prior to starting Ongoing industry-related training and support Apply: If you are ready to take on this opportunity as an HGV Class 1 Driver , please apply today or contact our recruitment team for more information.
