Pay Rate: £15.00 per hour
Role Overview
We are recruiting for experienced and reliable HGV Class 2 Drivers to support a well-established distribution operation based in Burton-on-Trent. This role involves multi-drop deliveries of goods to commercial and industrial customers, requiring a high level of professionalism, safety awareness, and customer interaction.
Drivers will be expected to work efficiently while maintaining full compliance with driving regulations and company procedures. This is a physically active role that includes manual handling and regular overnight stays.
Working Hours & Pattern
Monday to Friday (no weekends required) Early starts from 05:00am Average shift length: 1012 hours depending on route 2 nights out per week (typically either Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday) Occasional flexibility required depending on delivery schedules and traffic conditions Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a Category C (Class 2) vehicle in line with all DVSA and legal requirements Carry out multi-drop deliveries to a range of customer sites across regional and potentially national locations Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in full, maintaining a high level of customer service Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured correctly to prevent damage during transit Complete all delivery documentation and paperwork accurately, including proof of delivery and defect reports Conduct daily vehicle checks (walkaround inspections) and report any faults or defects promptly Adhere strictly to driver hours, Working Time Directive (WTD), and tachograph regulations Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned vehicle Represent the business in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with customers Follow all health & safety procedures, including safe manual handling practices Driver Requirements
Full HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence Must have held licence for a minimum of 2 years (insurance requirement) Valid Driver CPC qualification Valid Digital Tachograph xkybehq Card Solid understanding of UK driving laws, tachograph usage, and compliance requirements Previous experience in a multi-drop or delivery driving role is highly desirable Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties Strong time management and organisational skills Good communication skills with a professional, customer-focused attitude Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Additional Information
Regular overnight stays are required, so flexibility is essential This is a hands-on role suited to drivers who are comfortable being out on the road and managing their own workload Opportunity to gain consistent work with a reputable logistics operation
