TheHGV Technician Role Are you an experienced (Heavy Goods Vehicle) HGV Technician looking for stability, excellent pay, and a modern workshop setting? We are seeking a skilled technician to join our established commercial vehicle maintenance team in Weston-super-Mare.

In the HGV Technician role, you will play a central part in keeping essential, high-profile commercial vehicles operating safely and reliably across the region. From routine MOT preparations to complex system diagnostics, you will enjoy a varied day-to-day workload within a safety-conscious and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair:

Carry out preventative maintenance, routine servicing, and repairs on commercial vehicles, plant, and equipment to DVSA and manufacturer standards. MOT Preparation:

Perform detailed inspections and complete all necessary prep work to ensure vehicles meet regulatory standards. Advanced Diagnostics:

Use modern diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair complex auto-electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Field Support:

Respond to vehicle breakdowns, diagnose issues, and coordinate recovery or off-site repairs when required. Team Leadership:

Maintain accurate documentation, ensure workshop safety, and mentor apprentices within the team.

HGV Technician Requirements

Qualified Specialist:

Apprenticeship trained with a City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in HGV Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent). Proven Track Record:

Solid experience in commercial vehicle servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairexperience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and waste management bodywork systems is a strong advantage. License:

A valid LGV Class C / HGV Class 2 licence is desirable, but not essential. Safety First:

Ability to work independently, safely, and competently in a physically active environment.
