HGV Technician / GSE Mechanic – At the Airport Salary: £40,547 -£51,547 + Overtime (Time & Half) + Excellent Benefits Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Shift Pattern (4 on / 4 off) We currently have 2 permanent vacancies available: 06:30 – 18:30 (Days) HGV Technicians / GSE Mechanics About the Role Our client is looking to recruit two experienced HGV Technicians / GSE Mechanics to join their established engineering team based at the Airport. Working in a fast-paced airport environment, you'll be responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), ensuring critical vehicles remain safe, reliable and operational. This role would suit candidates from HGV, PSV, commercial vehicle, plant, agricultural or military mechanical backgrounds. HGV Technicians / GSE Mechanics Duties * Service, inspect and repair Ground Support Equipment * Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults * Carry out planned preventative maintenance * Undertake reactive repairs to minimise downtime * Complete all maintenance documentation accurately * Work in accordance with Health & Safety procedures * Liaise with colleagues to ensure fleet availability Equipment You'll Work On * Aircraft Tugs * Tow Tractors * Baggage Handling Equipment * Belt Loaders * Cargo Loaders * Ground Power Units * Specialist Airside Vehicles HGV Technicians / GSE Mechanics Candidate Requirements We're keen to hear from candidates with experience as: HGV Technician HGV Mechanic PSV Technician GSE Technician Plant Fitter Agricultural Engineer Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic Heavy Vehicle Technician You'll ideally have: Mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent) or strong relevant experience Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills Experience working on commercial vehicles or heavy equipment Ability to obtain an Airside Pass (5-year employment history) Ability to pass a basic criminal record check Package Salary up to £40,547 -£51,547 Overtime paid at Time & a Half 4 on / 4 off shift pattern Company pension Employee discounts Free on-site parking Stable, long-term career opportunity Training and development opportunities This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Technicians / GSE Mechanics looking to join a world-class airport operation, working on specialist equipment in a secure and dynamic environment
