HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic Location: North Birmingham Area Job Type: Permanent Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off Hours: 5:30am – 6:00pm Salary: £47,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience) HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic The Role An established commercial vehicle dealership is looking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician to join its busy workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanic to work on a wide range of heavy goods vehicles within a modern workshop, offering excellent long-term career prospects. As an HGV Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and fault finding, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic Key Responsibilities * Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles. * Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults. * Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance. * Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues. * Complete job cards and service documentation accurately. * Ensure all work complies with manufacturer standards and health and safety procedures. * Deliver high-quality workmanship while working efficiently within workshop schedules. HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic What We're Looking For * Qualified HGV Technician/Mechanic (recognised apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent). * Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and electrical fault-finding skills. * Full UK driving licence (essential). * HGV/LGV licence desirable but not essential. * A positive attitude with excellent attention to detail. * Willingness to undertake ongoing manufacturer and technical training.
