HGV Truck / Trailer Mechanic

DKS Commercials Lt d part of the TRUCKINGBYGroup of Companies, Strand House, Wakefield Road, Featherstone, WF7 5BP We are looking for experienced and skilled HGV Truck and Trailer Technicians at our state of the art garage in Featherstone, to work on our modern mixed fleet of HGV Tractor Units and Trailers as well as selected 3rd party vehicles. Working as part of the team the successful applicant will be expected to carry out the following duties as part of their day to day responsibilities to keep our fleet safe and roadworthy at all times. Identifying mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment. Performing Maintenance : Conducting routine maintenance including, safety inspections, tyre rotations and brake testing. Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed on each trailer. MOT Preps: Preparing and presenting trailers for yearly MOT. City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 Qualificiation Mechanical Aptitude : Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in heavy vehicles Repair Skills : Proficiency in repairing and replacing various truck components Ability to lift heavy tools and equipment and perform physically demanding tasks. Experience with Heavy Duty Vehicles : Familiarity with the specific needs and systems of trucks. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complete mechanical issues. Free on site parking
