Job overview

We are looking for a High Risk Podiatrist to join our highly motivated Podiatry team. The postholder will be working autonomously but with support (where needed) from a senior Podiatrist, in a community setting providing a high standard of quality clinical care.

The clinician will have had clinical experience for at least one year and completed a programme of competences. They will assess, diagnose, develop and implement individualised care programmes for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs. The post holder will also be expected to plan and manage their own caseload.

Main duties of the job

To w ork with patients at High risk of foot ulcers or with currently active foot ulcerations to support them with management of their foot pathologies. The postholder will be responsible for the assessment diagnosis, planning implementation and evaluation of Podiatric care to a variety of patients with wide range of clinical needs including: Diabetes, Vascular Disease, Rheumatological disease, Wound management, Neurological disorders, Nail Surgery.

Person specification

  • Degree/Diploma in Podiatric Medicine
  • Wound care experience
  • Independent prescribing or working towards
  • To have completed a preceptorship at band 5
