Role Overview
As a High Voltage Technician, you will be part of a specialist production and engineering team responsible for the build, installation, testing, and maintenance of high-voltage systems. Working closely with Manufacturing Engineers and the Cargo Research Team, you will support the development and delivery of next-generation products while contributing to quality assurance and root cause analysis activities.
Responsibilities
Install, test, commission, and maintain high-voltage equipment including converters, transformers, filters, and control systems
Carry out diagnostics and fault finding on high-voltage systems using specialist tools and test equipment
Support monitoring of system performance and assist with operational testing and control activities
Ensure all work is completed in full compliance with high-voltage safety procedures, technical standards, and environmental requirements
Maintain accurate documentation including maintenance records, test results, and system configurations
Operate in accordance with ISO9001 audited quality systems and procedures
Support product quality investigations and root cause analysis of failed hardware
Uphold the companys core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork
Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the companys Code of Ethics and Conduct
Qualifications NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, xwzovoh Power Systems, or a related discipline
Proven experience working with high-voltage electrical systems
Strong understanding of high-voltage safety procedures, including switching and lockout/tagout
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
Experience working in a regulated production or engineering environment
Desirable Experience
Experience working with HVDC systems
HV Authorised Person (AP) certification
IPC J-STD-001 soldering certification
Familiarity with quality systems and formal engineering documentation
