Job summary

Weseekto appoint anexperienced and enthusiasticSystemic Psychotherapist (Family Therapist)to join BromleyAdult Community Mental Health Servicesacross different teams, including the Older AdultsTeam.

You will have a Masters or Doctorate level qualification in Systemic Psychotherapy, with post registration systemic psychotherapist experience, as well as experience supervising family therapy clinics and a willingness to train in systemic supervision.

You will have UKCP registration and excellent therapeutic skills, be skilled in assessing and managing risk, and be able to be responsive and flexible in working with people across the age range.

You will be supportteams and clinicians to embed ways of engaging and working with families.

The role will be basedprimarilyin Beckenham Beacon.

Main duties of the job

As a Systemic Psychotherapist, you will assess patients' mental health needs and theirfamilies, andoffer evidence-based interventions to families with specific needs.

You will liaise with members of the MDT and other teams,servicesand agencies as part of the ongoing care plan as and when needed.

You will offer consultation and training to all the adult community mental health teams and offer supervision to our colleagues in the acute service.

You will also offer live supervision to systemic practitioners and family therapy trainees.

You will contribute to research and service improvement initiatives related to Adult Mental Health and systemic psychotherapy.

Job responsibilities

To provide theBromleyWorking Age Adult Directorate and the Older People Service with a high quality, evidence based, systemic psychotherapy service to adult communitypatients,families,carersand professional networks.

To provide clinical supervision to the Family Consultation Service in the Borough.

To provide specialist systemic assessment and therapy to families of patients.

To provide specialist advice and consultationregardingassessments, diagnoses and treatment to teams, external agencies, working autonomously within professional guidelines.

To provide specialist consultation to other professionals looking to increase theirexpertisein systemic psychotherapy.

To collaborate in the evaluation of the service and contribute to its development and implementation.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Masters Qualification in Systemic Psychotherapy
  • Current UKCP Registration
  • Willingness to train in Systemic Supervision

Experience

Essential

  • Working with families in a relevant mental health or social welfare setting
  • Working with wide variety of client groups and degrees of severity
  • Care coordination experience and MDT relationships
  • Working with psychosis or personality disorder diagnoses

Skills / Ability

Essential

  • Using wide range of systemic theories / interventions / client focus
  • Working with cultural, racial diverse communities
  • Extensive experience of live supervision of FT clinics
