History & Humanities Tutor Share Your Passion for History and Humanities We're looking for a History & Humanities Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 support to children and young people across Southampton and the surrounding Hampshire areas. Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision, helping them engage with subjects such as History, Geography, Religious Studies, and wider Humanities topics. Many students have experienced barriers to education and benefit from a tutor who can bring learning to life while building confidence and encouraging curiosity. This is an excellent opportunity for education professionals who enjoy helping students develop critical thinking skills, broaden their understanding of the world, and achieve positive educational outcomes. Location: Southampton & Surrounding Hampshire Areas Subject: History & Humanities Start Date: September Hours: Flexible Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour Type: 1:1 Tuition Requirements Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles Strong knowledge of History and/or Humanities subjects Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across Southampton and surrounding Hampshire areas Who You'll Support You'll work with children and young people who may have: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs ADHD Anxiety and school avoidance EHCPs and additional educational needsEach learner has unique needs and goals, requiring a flexible approach that focuses on engagement, confidence-building, and academic progress.
