Housing Support Worker Location: Ryburn House, Clay Street, Halifax, HX1 4SG Pay Rate: £12.85 PAYE or £17.14 Umbrella per hour Hours: Full Time 37 hours per week Contract: Temporary until October Working Pattern: Hybrid Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle & Enhanced DBS check with Adult and Children's Barred List checks required.The Role We are looking for an experienced Housing Support Worker to support vulnerable individuals and families moving from temporary accommodation into settled housing, including supported accommodation, social housing and private rented accommodation. You will work with households at risk of homelessness, helping them overcome barriers, sustain tenancies and access the support they need to maintain long-term housing stability. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of individuals and families living in temporary accommodation or at risk of homelessness. Assess support needs and create tailored support plans. Assist clients with welfare benefits, budgeting and accessing health and support services. Support clients to secure and move into suitable long-term accommodation. Work closely with housing teams and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes. Monitor tenancy sustainment and provide ongoing support where required. Maintain accurate case records and documentation. Attend case reviews, meetings and multi-agency discussions.About You Experience working with vulnerable adults, individuals and families facing homelessness or multiple disadvantages. Knowledge of issues including mental health, physical health, substance misuse, financial hardship and domestic abuse. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good understanding of welfare benefits and housing options. Experience of housing support and multi-agency working. Confident using Microsoft Office and case management systems. Ability to motivate and support clients to make positive changes. Level 3 qualification in Housing, Social Care, Youth Work, Criminal Justice or similar, or equivalent relevant experience.Additional Information Flexible working on a rota basis, including some evenings and weekends. Enhanced DBS check with Adult and Children's Barred List checks required.
