MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with an organisation going through an exciting phase of transformation as they look to add an HR Business Partner to their team, in this full-time, permanent basis.

HR Business Partner - Permanent - Newry

The role:

This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on employee relations, supporting and coaching managers while delivering a practical, commercially focused HR service.

The main responsibilities:

  • Manage complex ER cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, capability, performance and investigations.
  • Coach managers through difficult conversations, ensuring cases are handled fairly, consistently and within employment legislation.
  • Build strong relationships with operational leaders, acting as a trusted and credible HR partner.
  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance, engagement and employee wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, reporting and KPIs while ensuring policies and procedures remain fit for purpose.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and support wider people initiatives.

The ideal candidate:

  • Strong HR generalist experience within a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Proven end-to-end ER case management experience.
  • Confident advising, coaching and constructively challenging managers.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of NI employment law and HR best practice.
  • ROI employment law (desirable).
  • Practical, organised and comfortable balancing competing priorities.
  • CIPD qualified or working towards qualification.
