Are you an experienced quality professional with knowledge of healthcare decontamination services, medical devices and regulatory compliance?
We are seeking a Quality Manager to lead the Quality Management System within our Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit (HSDU), whilst supporting quality, governance and compliance activities across wider Estates & Facilities services. The post holder will play a key role in maintaining compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, Medical Devices Regulations and decontamination standards, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of sterilisation and decontamination services for ESHT and external customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of quality management, audit and compliance in a healthcare decontamination, medical devices, sterile services or similarly regulated environment. Knowledge of HSDU/SSD services, decontamination standards and accreditation processes would be highly advantageous.
Based at Eastbourne District General Hospital, with responsibility across ESHT sites as required, you will work closely with operational teams, senior managers and external regulators to drive continuous improvement, governance and quality excellence.
Main duties of the job
This role focuses on quality assurance, compliance, governance, risk management, service improvement, health and safety, and staff training across HSDU (Hospital Sterile Services) and Estates & Facilities services.
Quality Management Systems
- Manage and continually improve quality management systems.Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain quality documentation, procedures and records.
- Lead continuous improvement and support accreditation activities.
- Provide expert quality management advice and support across
Estates and Facilities.
- Audit and Compliance
- Develop and manage internal audit programmes.
- Conduct audits and coordinate external inspections
- Monitor corrective and preventative actions following audits.
- Prepare services for accreditation and regulatory reviews.
- Produce governance and compliance reports.
- Monitor compliance with policies, regulations and service agreements.
Governance and Risk Management
- Support investigations into incidents, complaints and non-conformities.
- Ensure risk assessments are completed and maintained.
- Monitor quality trends and escalate significant risks.
- Contribute to governance, assurance and risk reporting across Estates and Facilities.
HSDU Quality Assurance
- Ensure decontamination services meet regulatory and quality standards.
- Monitor validation, verification and quality assurance processes.
- Support compliance with Medical Devices Regulations, HTM guidance and decontamination standards.

- Degree or equivalent experience in Quality Management, Healthcare, Facilities Management or a related discipline.
- Internal Quality Management Systems Auditor qualification.
- Management qualification or equivalent management experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.

- NEBOSH National General Certificate.
- Lead Auditor qualification
