This post offers a unique opportunity for an HR professional or individual with staff management experience wishing to increase their people knowledge. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of a proactive, effective and high-quality HR service by providing operational support for line managers and staff using a variety of platforms (face to face and/or virtual) dealing with a range of day-to-day employee relation issues.

Right to Work in the UK: This role is not available for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application. Unfortunately, we are unable to support visa applications for this post in line with UKVI regulations.

Main duties of the job

Building upon your existing experience within HR, the successful candidate will demonstrate a sound knowledge of current employment legislation and good HR practice, along with a particular understanding of the HR issues facing the NHS at present. You will have the skills and confidence to communicate effectively at all levels and across a range of staff groups verbally and in writing, as well as a proactive, positive approach and demonstrable experience of contributing at a high level to a support service function within our People and Culture Division.

The successful candidate will also have excellent organisational skills, will be able to think on their feet and balance a busy caseload and conflicting priorities.

If you enjoy working in a small, committed and friendly team, like having variety within your day, can work effectively at pace and deal with the unexpected, this role may well be for you, and we look forward to receiving your application. This role sits within a team which will shortly join with another operational HR team, underpinned by our federation with Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.

Whilst predominately office based there are opportunities for hybrid working once you have settled into the role.

We understand that AI can be a useful tool when completing your application. However, we are seeing an increasing over-reliance of AI tools, which can negatively affect your application as it reduces a candidate's individuality, and makes it difficult for us to gain a clear and authentic understanding of your experience, skills, and in turn your suitability for the role.

All submissions must be truthful and if you do use AI, it should only be used to enhance your application and not create your supporting statement in its entirety. Your supporting statement should be in your own words and must accurately reflect your personal experience and achievements. Where we have concerns that AI has been used to generate content that misrepresents your experience and suitability for the role, we may withdraw your application.
