Position: SEND & Inclusion Lead Location: Southampton Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Permanent | Part-Time – 3 Days Per Week Pay Rate: MPS–UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience) About the Role Supply Desk is seeking an experienced and passionate SEND & Inclusion Lead to take a strategic role in developing and strengthening SEND provision within a welcoming primary school in Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SENCO or aspiring SEND leader to make a genuine difference to pupils with additional needs, working closely with senior leaders, teachers, families and external professionals to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive. The school is committed to inclusion, high expectations and helping every pupil reach their academic, social and emotional potential. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school. Work alongside senior leaders to develop inclusive teaching and support strategies. Identify barriers to learning and help staff implement effective interventions. Monitor the progress and attainment of pupils with SEND. Manage EHCP processes, annual reviews and relevant documentation. Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external agencies. Provide guidance, training and support to teaching staff. Champion pupil voice, inclusion and positive outcomes. Contribute to wider school improvement and leadership. Candidate Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or appropriate SENCO qualification. Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, provision and best practice. Experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals. Passionate, resilient and solution-focused approach. DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
