A leading engineering business is looking to recruit an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Engineer to join its expanding service team. This is a mobile role covering Central Scotland, with the majority of customer sites located across the Glasgow and Edinburgh corridor. Working across a diverse range of industrial environments, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining, servicing, and repairing industrial refrigeration and chiller systems for a varied customer base.

The Role
- Deliver planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, and breakdown support on a variety of refrigeration systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance and Servicing: Carry out planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing. Conduct leak testing and system inspections. Monitor compressor performance and efficiency. Replace worn or faulty components to minimise downtime and maintain operational performance.
- Fault Finding and Repairs: Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration-related faults. Respond effectively to emergency breakdown situations. Ensure systems are restored safely and efficiently.
- Compliance and Safety: Work in line with all health and safety legislation and company procedures. Safely handle hazardous refrigerants, including toxic and flammable gases. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and emissions standards.
Candidate Requirements
- F-Gas Category 1 (2079) certification.
- Ammonia handling qualification and experience.
- A completed refrigeration apprenticeship.
- A recognised qualification such as NVQ or City andamp; Guilds in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR).
- Proven experience working with HFC, ammonia and CO₂ refrigeration systems.
- Strong working knowledge of DX, pumped, flooded and multistage refrigeration systems.
- Experience working with equipment from manufacturers such as Sabroe, Frick, York, Bitzer and Howden.
- A full UK driving licence.
