An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Nurse/Practitioner to join the dynamic Infection Prevention and Control Team at Powys Teaching Health Board.

Main duties of the job

In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in developing and maintaining our infection prevention surveillance and monitoring systems, helping to drive quality improvement and patient safety across the organisation. You will also take the lead in managing new cases and outbreaks of common infections, alongside a varied range of infection prevention and control responsibilities.

Person specification

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential

  • Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of Registration with NMC and Continual Professional Development
  • Post graduate education in Infection Prevention and Control or demonstrable experience with a willingness to undertake formal recognised qualification within 1 year

Experience

Essential

  • Experience at a senior clinical level, demonstrating ability to lead the delivery of improvements to patient care
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills; able to present well at meetings where specialist information/ knowledge is exchanged

Desirable

  • Experience of creating educational training packages
  • Experience in multi-agency liaison and collaborative & partnership working
  • Experience in contributing to policy, planning & service development
