The Inspection Engineer is responsible for conducting detailed inspections and assessments of onshore and offshore assets, including pipelines, vessels, tankage, and pressure equipment.

Position Summary:

The Inspection Engineer is responsible for conducting detailed inspections and assessments of onshore and offshore assets, including pipelines, vessels, tankage, and pressure equipment. The role supports the integrity, safety, and reliability of client assets by identifying risks, performing inspections, utilizing non‑destructive testing (NDT) where required, and providing technical recommendations for maintenance and repair. The Inspection Engineer collaborates with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations while contributing to continuous improvement in inspection practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed inspections and assessments of onshore and offshore equipment and infrastructure.
  • Identify potential risks and hazards and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and provide recommendations for maintenance and repair.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize advanced inspection techniques and technologies to detect and analyze defects.
  • Perform non‑destructive testing (NDT) as required, ensuring accurate and reliable inspection results.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior inspectors and support knowledge transfer.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to inspection and maintenance.
  • Promote and maintain a safe and healthy working environment during inspection activities.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or currently working toward a similar qualification.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the oil and gas industry with a focus on inspections.

Certifications & Technical Knowledge:

  • EEMUA 159.

One or more of the following certifications:

  • API 510
  • API 570
  • API 653
  • ASME VIII Division 1
  • ASME II
  • ASME B31.3
  • ASME B31.4
  • ASME B31.8
  • ASME Level 1 or Level 2 Plant Inspector certifications.

Working knowledge of:

  • Risk-Based Analysis (API RP580, API RP581, API RP579)
  • Standard NDT Level II qualifications with a minimum of UT 3.1 and UT 3.2.
  • Willingness to work toward advanced NDT qualifications as determined by the management team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
