A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Lawyer to join its EMEA legal team on a 12-month contract basis, based in London.
This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with DCM and funding businesses across a broad range of capital markets transactions, advising on high-profile debt issuances and programme work across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on a variety of DCM transactions, including syndicated bond issuances, MTN programme establishments and updates, and liability management exercises.
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating transaction documentation, including final terms, mandates, NDAs, legal opinions and auditor comfort letters.
- Providing clear, commercial legal advice to business stakeholders on live transactions and strategic initiatives.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders and coordinating with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
- Managing competing deadlines and supporting a diverse transaction pipeline in a fast-paced environment.
Required Experience
- Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or US qualified).
- Strong DCM experience gained within a major international bank or leading law firm.
- Demonstrable experience advising on:
- MTN programmes and programme updates
- Syndicated bond issuances
- Liability management transactions
- Drafting and reviewing final terms and related transaction documentation
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to deliver pragmatic, solution-focused advice.
