IV Therapy Nurse - Band 5 - 32 hours per week

We are looking for an innovative and forward-thinking nurse to work within a developing community-based team - the Community Intravenous Therapy Service, within the Tameside and Glossop area.

The service launched in 2015, primarily providing intravenous medications in patients own homes, the service has gone from strength to strength developing new and outstanding Nurse lead services including the development of a community clinic where we provide therapies such as venesection, iron infusions Midline placement and synacthen testing.

Main duties of the job

This role will require the post holder to work across community health care in Tameside and Glossop. Supporting home intravenous therapy for patients discharged from Tameside Hospital and other neighboring hospitals, direct referrals from General practitioners to faciliate admision avoidance to the acute hospital setting. The post holder will support the lead in IV therapy and the band 6 nurse in the delivery of IV therapy across Tameside and Glossop. Proficient in venepuncture, cannulation and IV medication reconstitution and administration.

The post holder will work in partnership with Tameside Hospital in assisting in a smooth and timely discharge home on IV therapy, and/or admission avoidance for patients in Tameside and Glossop community.
