Main duties of the job

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic individuals to join our experienced Senior Nursing Team within the Emergency Department. The successful applicants will work closely with a Band 7 Senior Sister to deliver high standards of patient care and provide robust support to staff across the unit.This role offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

You will be expected to:o Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary teamo Demonstrate excellent communication, motivation, and enthusiasmo Take on managerial responsibility for a number of staff within the nursing teamo Lead nurse-led care on a shift-by-shift basiso Deliver gold-standard nursing practice across a diverse emergency caseloado Act as a role model, leading by example in all areas of clinical practiceo Take charge in the absence of other senior staffo Manage and respond to complaints and Datix reports professionallyo Champion specific areas of departmental interest to support ongoing service developmentThis is an ideal opportunity for nurses looking to step into senior leadership, with full support from an experienced and forward-thinking management team.

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • Has an NMC registration
  • Has undertaken a course in trauma nursing
  • Has undertaken an academic nursing qualification at least level 6

Desirable

  • Has actively participated in an improvement within the department
  • Has completed datix responses
  • Has undertaken an academic nursing qualification at least level 7

Experience

Essential

  • Considerable post PIN experience in a large Emergency Department
  • Senior nurse experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Is competent in all areas of emergency nursing
