Kitchen Support Staff - Ballymoney - Part Time 

Join a team in Ballymoney as a Kitchen Assistant/Cook and play a key role in assisting in the preparation, cooking, presentation and serving of high-quality meals, whilst maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, health and safety, cleanliness and customer service within the kitchen.

About the role: 

• £Competitive salary
• Ballymoney
• Part time, 22.5 hours per week
• Monday - Friday, 9.00am – 2.00pm daily
• Temporary position

What you’ll be doing in this role:

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping and measuring food items.
• Assist with the preparation and cooking of breakfasts, lunches, snacks and special event catering.
• Serve meals in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans and kitchen equipment.
• Clean work surfaces, preparation areas, floors and storage areas.
• Comply with all food hygiene regulations and school policies.
• Follow Health and Safety procedures at all times.

What you'll need for this role:

Essential:

• Previous experience working in a kitchen, catering or food preparation environment.
• Knowledge of basic food hygiene and health and safety practices.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.

Desirable:

• Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or equivalent).
• Experience working in a school, educational or large-scale catering environment.
• Basic cooking experience and knowledge of food preparation techniques.
