I'm supporting an innovative engineering business working at the forefront of advanced technology and scientific testing in their search for a Laboratory & Test Technician.
This is a hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys working with complex equipment, solving practical engineering challenges, and supporting the development and testing of cutting-edge products.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll play a key role in the operation of specialist laboratory facilities, supporting testing programmes from setup through to completion.
As the successful Laboratory & Test Technician, you will be:
Operating and maintaining vacuum and laboratory test systems
Supporting qualification, development and investigative testing programmes
Setting up instrumentation, sensors and test equipment
Building, configuring and maintaining test rigs and fixtures
Carrying out fault-finding and troubleshooting activities
Supporting calibration and measurement systems
Assisting with laboratory and facility maintenance activities
Working closely with engineers and technical specialists on a variety of projects
We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience in laboratory, test, manufacturing or engineering environments and who enjoy practical, hands-on work.
You'll be able to demonstrate experience in some of the following areas:
Vacuum systems (HV/UHV)
Instrumentation and test equipment
Mechanical assembly
Calibration and measurement systems
Data acquisition or control systems
Laboratory or testing environments
Fault-finding and troubleshooting
A mechanical engineering background would be advantageous, although candidates with electrical, instrumentation or closely related experience are also encouraged to apply.
Experience gained within aerospace, defence, scientific research, advanced manufacturing, instrumentation or other highly regulated engineering environments would be beneficial.
